It features 3M Precision-Shaped Grain technology - triangular-shaped, electrostatically oriented grains form sharp peaks, each acting like an individual cutting tool that slices through paint and body filler. This grain cuts 30% faster than traditional premium abrasives. The disc is ideal for feather-edging, as a final sanding step before priming, or during prep before blending. Individual edges in the shaped grain also self-fracture to continually present a sharp cutting surface, making the cut more consistent and prolonging the life of the disc. Cubitron utilizes 3M Precision-Shaped Grain, which outcuts and outlasts conventional ceramic industrial abrasives and requires less grinding force to achieve superior performance. To create PSG, 3M engineers started with 3M Ceramic Abrasive Grain and used proprietary technology to form the grains into triangular structures and electrostatically orient them on the backing to form sharp peaks that maximize cutting potential.
